Events
Events are essential for awareness and fundraising for Kids’ Chance of Florida. Through the events, we are able to spread the word about our mission and receive donations to support our student scholarships.

Scholarships
Kids’ Chance of Florida (KCFL) provides college scholarships to the children of Florida workers who have been severely or fatally injured in a workplace-related accident. KCFL awards as many scholarships as the current year’s funding will allow.
KCFL has one scholarship cycle per year which opens every March and closes the end of June. Every July the Scholarship Committee communicates and congratulates each of the scholarship recipients.
Workers’ Memorial Day
Held each year on April 28, Workers’ Memorial Day honors the workers who have been killed or injured at work.
The day was first observed in the United States in 1989. As well as a day to remember and mourn, it is a day to call attention to workplace safety issues and advocate for greater safety for everyone.
Kids’ Chance sees firsthand the effect a worker’s death or injury can have on the entire family, especially the children. Finances change rapidly. Future plans become unsure. And sending a child to college under these circumstances can be tough or even impossible.
Kids’ Chance scholarships help the children of these workers achieve their educational goals and make a brighter and more productive future possible.
Kids’ Chance invites our community to join us in observing this day by visibly standing with the workers and their families.

2025 Golf Tournament
The 2025 KCFL Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Orlando World Marriott Hawk’s Landing Golf Course as part of the WCI Conference.
Join us for the 5th Annual Kids’ Chance of Florida Golf Tournament at the stunning Hawk’s Landing Golf Club during the WCI 2025 Conference. This isn’t just a day on the course – it’s a chance to make a lasting impact while playing at one of Orlando’s premier golf destinations.
Every swing, putt, and drive helps fund scholarships for children of injured workers, giving them access to education and opportunity.
October Awareness Week
Awareness Week is moving from November to October in 2025! Kids’ Chance Awareness Week will be held during the week of October 13-17, 2025 and offers many ways for you to participate in supporting children affected by workplace injuries. This special week each year is designed to increase visibility through outreach events across the country. Check the KCOA website for specific dates in November.
